Virtual Vintage Prom Night!!

It's time for the Virtual Vintage Prom hosted by the artistic Natasha. It's getting late, I better get dressed before my date comes to pick me up, but what frock to wear?? After trying on a few things in the mirror, there really isn't any doubt. Has to be this c. 1928 chartreuse silk chiffon flapper dress. Oh yes, it does! It's just coated in tiny pearls, silver beads and rhinestones that glitter and dazzle the eye. And oh that glorious pale green color! Maybe not for everyone, but if you have a touch of red in your hair like me, it's going to look great! :) What a site I will be doing the Charleston!

And what prom outfit would be complete without some jaw-dropping jewels? THIS is the stunning necklace I would go for! The Royal Juliette, inspired by French aristocratic fashion. J'aime ce collier!!! [If you're listening Santa I have been a VERY good girl]
My date's here! What a beautiful peach rose he brought me. My favorite color! He's pinned it to my dress and now it's off to the prom! (Click on Natasha's link above to go visit other prom goers).
(p.s. I really, really tried to fit into my old dress because it is really cool -- think 1930's, midnight blue, spaghetti straps, and lots of beading and sequins -- but alas .... I think it must have shrunk in storage :) .....so I'm glad this is a virtual party!)

Aside from this stunning dress with the exquisite detailing...your date is rather dapper isn't he?? And very proper as well I might add (I've been seeing some hanky panky with one of the Kens that Constance from Rochambeau brought along..that boy needs to learn some manners..he's very "fresh"!!) :)

Gorgeous dress! I love the 20's and 30's in American history. Such style. As for your Etsy store, I think you'll do just fine. Besides you have plenty of Etsy friends to ask questions from, like me. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions:)

Hi!
I'm really in love with that flapper dress...it could hide that my waistline isn't where it should be anymore! Oh and those jewels... awesome!
Do you have those wardrobes over there as well?? I hate them...everything shrinks in my wardrobe after one or two seasons, let alone 25 years!
Have a wonderful day flapper girl, Love LiLi

If you leave your clothes in the closet too long, they always get smaller and smaller.

Oh, what a coincidence, my dress has shrunk in storage too!
:)

I hate how these dresses seem to get smaller in storage- some kind of manufacturers flaw, I think.

Your flapper dress it to die for- It, and your jewelry just have me drooling!

Wellll, since I have red in my hair too, can I borrow that dress? You know if ever I have a special date or event?? Just lovely, why can't clothes be that pretty and feminine today??? Instead we get low ride jeans and snug tees, I want to wear beautiful flowy dresses instead and even their shoes were fab!! -Sandra

Lora said...

oh how I wish I could borrow that dress!! (if it would fit me!)
My hubby's works is having a themed Christmas party and you're supposed to come in your best 1920's best! This would be awesome.
