Saturday Market Grand Opening!

Today was the grand opening of the local Saturday Market I am a vendor at. It was a beautiful morning, the market was filled with happy vendors, and we had an absolutely great turn out of happy market-goers! Even the predicted rain held off until the very last 10 minutes of market - yeah!! I had been worried it would be a very soggy day :)

I couldn't wait to run home and post some of my booth pics! I gave my booth a makeover this year and I really like how much richer it looks now. Here's a grand overview shot. I would love to have more tables, but with a car full of car seats and kid gear, everything has to fit in the space left in the trunk ....but boy can I pack that trunk full!

A shot of my necklace busts. One for vintage gem and filigree necklaces (more on these in a later post) and one for just .... cool stuff! Do you like the brocade linens? I just love how rich they make the display look.

Close up of the necklace bust for "cool stuff". Both of these sold quickly.

My new booth display idea. I found two of these French-style bulletin boards in "antique linen" on sale and bought some wrought iron stands to accommodate them. They are just perfect for displaying pins and earrings! And it was really nice having such a strong vertical element in the booth to help maximize my table display space.

A close up of some of my hand crocheted pins in their pretty boxes. And you can see some of my new pretty business cards in the corner there :) (Those pins may look familiar to some of you as being from my Etsy shop. I will be pulling a few items from Etsy and/or the website boutique every week to take to market, so if you are looking for something and it is missing, feel free to contact me!)

What a fabulous start to market! Looking forward to next week already!

Hey Heather!
Love your display! Everything looks so pretty! I just got back from a huge open air market here is Texas...I'm pooped, sore, sun-burned, and still gleeming about all my good finds! But I must say I didn't find any jewelry that I liked as much as yours! Here in Texas everything is very gaudy, very sequine-ie and BIG! I showed my friend your shop and I think she will be making a purchase very soon! Lots of luck and warm weather for your market season!!!

That is a very attractive booth! I know that if I saw it at a fair I'd definitely make a beeline for it!

I do love the brocade and the vertical display. Most displays lack that and it really adds interest for the shopper and is such a neat way to display (as well as photograph) stuff on a table. Nice Heather, really nice.

Good luck with the market season. Your table looks amazing!! (I know how it is to squish what you can in a vehicle with multiple car seats :)

Take care

Oh what a beautiful display, really!!

My father used to sell his jewellery at fairs and markets and I loved going to do the stand with him.

p.s you can change your url under settings and publishing, you literally enter the new url in, but will have to make another blog, with the original url to direct people to the new one. I answered in my blog but thought I should do it here too! Email me if you want to do it, but you have a lovely url anyway! ..

Thanks for sharing this! It gives me a lot of great knowledge on what to expect for selling at craft fairs. I will be selling at my first big craft fair next month, so i am constantly doing research on what to expect. :-)
