First of all, I'd like to bring your attention to the new blog widget on the top left column entitled "Lovely Followers". If you would like an easy way to follow this blog, please click to become a follower. It's painless and you won't miss out on any good posts :)
Second, I picked up this magazine when I went to the store to get some medicine for my sick son. He wants nothing more than to spend eternity snuggled up to me when he feels poorly, so he and I curled up on the couch together. We read some chapters of "Charlotte's Web" and when he fell asleep on my lap I took a few minutes to read this. It is gold! Sooo many great projects and ideas in it for home improvement and all of them totally doable, only basic powertool, painting and crafting knowledge required.
It's full of creative ideas like these drawer pulls. Love the padlock!
I've got to try this one. Those are panels of gourmet fabric stretched across pieces of foam board (Although I think building canvas stretcher bars would be a better way to go). Great wall art and it gives you an excuse to buy expensive, gorgeous fabric. Also, if you have energetic young children, like me :), you should know that fabric wall hangings help cut down on room echoes and overall noise so not only will these look great, but they will also have a fabulous acoustic benefit! There are SO many other great ideas and projects in the magazine. If you like IKEA furniture, (and who doesn't?) there are a few articles on how to use/modify IKEA basics for a custom look. There is one on how to create your own pendant lampshade out of anything. Oh, and there is a pegboard right in the first few pages that is really inspirational! It has a standard pants hanger turned into a ribbon organizer that is just too cool!

I would love to pick up the magazine Do it yourself. I am currently fixing up my townhome that we moved out of a few months ago. Trying to prepare it for sale or rental and would love to new ideas. I just finished painting and need some new tips. :-)
that magazine looks like a winner:) on the blog follower thing, i really prefer google reader, i can keep track of what i have already read more easily...i go to a lot of blogs, so that just works out better for me
Hey there!
It's a beautiful new day isn't it?
Lot of work ahead, but now maybe we can really do it. Yes, we can. :)
Your blog is looking lovely as usual and it was good to see you.

Looks like a fantastic mag. So many great ideas. I would like to try the fabric canvas boards and the padlock drawer pull is too cute!
Lol to my new list. I really should learn to try and stick to a list. I'm quite sure my last four will happen =p

I love those wall panels...I am gonna have to try that one!!!
Neat looking magazine - I'll have to look for it here.
Liking those fabric panels on the yellow wall...brocade...yes, very nice!
i'm following you...sounds a bit it strange when you actually say it like that! lol! (i always get 'decapitated' when i follow!)
I made art with foam-core panels with stretched fabric once, and they looked good. The only problem is, they wouldn't stay on the wall! Maybe I should have used Velcro.
There's a blog where people submit their Ikea furniture etc that they've revamped. Hmm.......wish I could remember the name......Oh well, maybe it's Google-able :)
