There is just something about winter that makes you want to curl up with a good book. A really, really, good engaging book. Something like Wuthering Heights or Rebecca. I've been haunting the library getting great literary reads to enjoy during the cool rainy weather, so it was natural to have thought provoking quotes on the brain while I was creating art.
Here are some pieces I made last week and I am SO proud of them! I've worked really hard the past year at developing a line of quality handcrafted polymer clay pendants and I think these two are just soooo beautiful! These are my favorites out of the new bunch, although that high gloss lacquer is beastly hard to photograph!!! So here they are (after wrestling for 4 hours in photographing them - oh, that gloss!!!) paired with the quotes that inspired them ......“How does one become a butterfly?" she asked. "You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” -- Trina Paulus
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon-instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.” -- Dale Carnegie
And if anyone has a great book lined up to read this winter or a killer recommendation to share, please feel free!
Now, it's time to stop blogging and go back to baking bread. I can't cook, but I can bake bread like a goddess! Tonight it's homemade pumpkin and zuchinni breads. YUM!!
And for those who asked when the free holiday goodies are going to start being enclosed in packages ... I'm still not sure what to do yet .. thinking ... but you can bet you will find something besides your product starting this weekend, November 21. Maybe a little candy, maybe a little handcrafted goody.... I might even do little craft packs of supplies for some of you, if I can figure out who you are and if you would like that type of thing. Guess it going to be a mystery goodie to start with!

those are gorgeous, and you did a brilliant job of photographing them...i am reading "the clay bible" right now and it is very good!!!
Heather, I miss talking to you my book friend! I just finished "In the Woods" by Tana French- really loved it. It's in the mystery section which is so not me, but I loved getting into it. The writing was up my alley, so I'm telling you to get it! Hope all is well with you...xo natalea
my bad...the name of the book is actually "the bible of clay"
How lovely and the pictures are great, especially the second one.
I'm currently reading "Dewey" which is about a library cat in Spencer, Iowa. You see, growing up in Nebraska my opinion of what life is about is eminently practical and so is this book. I'm loving it.
The new designs are fantastic! I am currently reading your blog, I highly recommend it. Seriously, if you find a good read pass it on, I'm in the market for a really great read. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Those pendants are gorgeous! You are really so talented. I swear, once the Canadian dollar is worth a bit more then 'poop' I'll be back visiting your lovely shop again! hehe
Your new pendants are beautiful. I especially like the first one.
I've been buying those Penguin classic books lately. Mostly classic books.
As for a recommendation I'm not really sure. I haven't read my penguin books yet and I've been reading fantasy books lately =)
Try reading The Thirteenth Tale, Heather, if you haven't already. It's a great read!
