Summer seemed like it would never end, but Autumn has arrived at last! The trees changed almost overnight, and then started dropping leaves by the bucketful. It's not a New England display, but I think the trees in our region put on a lovely autumn show!A few flowers are still hanging on. This hydrangea is aging gracefully, it's bright lavender flowers fading to a soft, dusty violet.
Autumn here also brings a thick, ghostly morning fog. The streetlamps shining through the fog and leafy orange treetops tint the air yellow, like old gas lamp lighting. It makes for a very lovely and peaceful, if slightly unworldly morning stroll!

i love the street lamps shining through the fog :)
Beautiful post and gorgeous pictures !
I love Fall so much !
I can't imagine flowers still hanging on... up here they are dead dead dead.
My Veto says that 90 days after a thick fog you will get snow... it almost always works. Jot it down on your calendar to see!
I love that shot of the leaves. I'm still waiting here in VA. I'm beginning to see a few patches.
I enjoyed the post below, as well. I really love the scope of all the work you do.
Have a great weekend!

Gorgeous photos, Heather! It will be a while yet before our trees achieve that degree of color down here, but the nights are getting cold enough to let us know summer is over.

How beautiful! We are heading to Northern Arizona to see the fall colors. Mostly Aspens, so really only the yellows ...no maples and only a few oak.
Ah, I love seeing fall in other states. Fall has yet to visually change Louisiana, so I'm eagerly waiting. So glad the market paid off. I'm showing my jewelry in two weeks and then again two weeks after that. Got my fingers crossed for success.

Ah-h-h-h, I can just see what you are describing. It does make one slow down a notch and take notice as to what's going on in nature. Have a wonderful day!
